LAVANDULA SOAP

INGREDIENTS:

– 200 ml of olive oil

– 25 grams of caustic soda

– 60 ml of distilled water

– 30 drops lavender essential oil

– fresh or dry lavender flowers

– a mould with the preferred shape (no aluminium)

METHOD:

Lay the lavender flowers on the bottom of the mold, wear gloves, mask and protective glasses, lay a glass container in the sink and pour the caustic soda in very carefully, add distilled water, let it rest.

Put the oil in the pan and let it rest on a low heat; at about 40 ° C remove from the heat and mix it with the caustic soda solution, pay attention; then blend the mixture with an immersion blender until thick paste is obtained , called “ribbon”.

Recognizing the time when the “ribbon” is ready is simple, the mixture will be slightly thickened.

Without waiting for it to cool add the essential oil and the flowers, stirring well.

Transfer the mixture into the mold and add more lavender flowers so that they are visible on this side as well.

Cover with a cloth and allow to cool.

It will take between 12 and 24 hours without moving, once cold remove the soap from the mold.

Store in a cool, dry place to make it harden and mature for about a month and a half, two.
